JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team. The Structural Engineer will play a key role in the design, analysis, and implementation of structural systems for various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering principles, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects and contribute to the success of our firm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform structural analysis and design for a wide range of building and infrastructure projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional structures.
- Utilize engineering software and tools to analyze structural systems and components, including finite element analysis (FEA), computer-aided design (CAD), and building information modeling (BIM) software.
- Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural solutions into overall project designs.
- Conduct site visits and evaluations to assess existing conditions, provide structural assessments, and offer recommendations for repair or retrofitting.
- Review and analyze contractor submittals, shop drawings, and construction documents to ensure compliance with design requirements and specifications.
- Participate in project meetings, client presentations, and coordination efforts with project stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, project budgets, and schedules.
- Stay current with industry trends, developments, and best practices in structural engineering.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and support as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Masters in Structural Engineering from an accredited institution (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- 3-5 years of experience in structural engineering design and analysis.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, or similar.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, including loadings, materials behavior, and design codes (e.g., ACI, AISC, ASCE).
- Experience with seismic and wind design considerations preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet project deadlines.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Experience with advanced structural analysis techniques, such as nonlinear analysis and dynamic analysis.
- Familiarity with building design for sustainability and green building practices.
- Experience working with diverse project types and construction materials.
- Membership in relevant professional organizations
